Gerald Clark
Co-Founder
Gerald’s investing career has spanned the public and private markets in both equity and credit. Prior to MIG, Gerald was a Senior Research Analyst for GoldenTree Asset Management, a hedge fund with over $50bn of AUM, where he led investment research and risk management for the energy sector. Gerald was previously a Vice President at BlackRock where he led energy and chemicals research for BlackRock’s distressed credit hedge fund.
Prior to his hedge fund experience, Gerald was an investor for Wind Point Partners, a middle-market private equity firm in Chicago, where he executed multiple acquisitions in the industrials sector. He is a graduate of Tulane University, summa cum laude, where he was a member of the Varsity Baseball Team and received an MBA from Columbia Business School. In his free time Gerald enjoys writing, is a certified health coach and mindfulness teacher to young business executives, trains and competes in jiu jitsu and obsesses over his fantasy football lineup.
Mike Shipley
Co-Founder
Mike has spent his career across investing, corporate finance and c-suite operating roles. Prior to MIG, he led growth stage direct investing for a large silicon valley family office. Earlier in his career, Mike was a private equity investor at Parthenon Capital and part of the Mergers & Strategic Advisory Group at Goldman Sachs.
As an operator Mike has held multiple c-suite positions at early and growth stage companies and has worked with over a dozen different companies as an advisor on corporate development initiatives. He also was the founder and CEO of Taste Trunk, a D2C e-commerce business in the food delivery space.
Mike graduated from Williams College and received an MBA from UC Berkeley. He lives in the Lake Tahoe area with his wife and children and enjoys all things outdoors.
